Questions we get asked most.

Straight answers about where we work, what things cost and how a job with Waterworths runs. If yours isn't here, ask us.

Which areas do you cover?

We're based in Central Scotland and work across the Central Belt, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, Falkirk, Livingston, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Perth, Hamilton, Motherwell, Bathgate and Alloa, and the towns and villages in between. If your move starts or ends in this area, we can help. For anything further afield, get in touch and we'll tell you straight away whether it's something we can do.

Do you do moves within Edinburgh and Glasgow?

Yes. City moves are a big part of what we do. We're used to tenement stairs, narrow closes, controlled parking zones and tight loading windows, and we plan for them before the day so there are no surprises.

How much does a removal cost?

It depends on how much you're moving, how far, and how much access there is at each end. A studio flat with lift access is a very different job from a four-bedroom house up three flights of stairs. Tell us about your move through the quote form and we'll come back with a clear, fixed quote. What we quote is what you pay, unless the job turns out to be different from what we were told, and we'll always tell you before doing any extra work.

How do I get a quote?

Fill in the form on our contact page with a few details about your move, delivery or project. We aim to reply within one business day. Quotes are free and there's no obligation.

How far ahead should I book?

The earlier the better, especially for weekends and the end of the month, which are the busiest times for moving. That said, if you need something at short notice, ask. We can often fit smaller jobs and single deliveries in quickly.

Do you offer packing?

Yes. We can pack everything, just the fragile or awkward items, or leave it all to you. We'll also unpack at the other end if you'd like. Tell us what you need when you request a quote.

Can you move a single item?

Yes. Our deliveries service is exactly that: man-and-van collections and deliveries for furniture, bulky items and anything too big for a courier. New purchases, auction wins, second-hand finds, or something that needs to go from one house to another.

Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?

Yes. Beds, wardrobes, tables and flat-pack furniture can all be taken apart for the move and put back together at your new home. Let us know what's involved and we'll include it in your quote.

Do you offer storage?

Yes. If there's a gap between moving out and moving in, or you need to clear space for a while, we can arrange short-term or long-term storage as part of your move. Ask about it when you get your quote.

What does the interiors service involve?

Help getting a space to feel finished. That might be placing furniture and working out a room layout once the boxes are in, a light refresh and styling before a property goes on the market, sourcing and arranging pieces, or a de-clutter and reorganisation. It works well as the last step of a move, but you don't need to be moving to book it.

Are you insured?

Ask us about insurance when you request your quote and we'll explain exactly what's covered for your job. We'd rather you had the specifics in writing than a vague reassurance.

Do you work evenings and weekends?

Yes. Weekday, weekend or evening, we work around the dates that matter to you. Weekends book up first, so mention your preferred date early.

Still have a question?

Tell us what you're planning and we'll answer it along with a clear, no-obligation quote.
