Who we are
Waterworths is a removals, deliveries and interiors business based in Central Scotland. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Waterworths is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

What we collect and why
When you request a quote. Our contact form asks for your name and email address, and optionally your phone number, preferred date, the postcodes or areas you are moving between, the type of job, and any details you choose to give us. We use this to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, and arrange the work if you go ahead. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
When you email or call us. We keep the correspondence so we can deal with your enquiry or booking and refer back to what was agreed.
When you visit the website. Our hosting provider records technical information about visits, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device and does not track you across other websites. We do not run advertising trackers.
We do not ask for, and would prefer you did not send us, sensitive information such as health or financial details through the contact form.
Bot protection on the contact form
The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people apart from automated spam. When the form loads, Turnstile runs a check in your browser and may collect information about your device and browser, including your IP address, to decide whether a challenge is needed. This is processed by Cloudflare, Inc. under its own privacy policy. Turnstile does not use this information for advertising. Turnstile may set a cookie in your browser to remember that the check has been passed.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we only share it with the services we need to run the website and reply to you:
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts this website, protects it from attacks and provides the Turnstile bot check. Cloudflare processes visitor IP addresses and request data across its global network.
- Resend, Inc. delivers contact form submissions to us by email. Your form details pass through Resend's servers in the European Union (Ireland) on the way to our inbox.
- Google LLC provides our business email (Google Workspace), where your enquiry and our correspondence are stored.
We may also share information where the law requires it, or with professional advisers such as accountants or insurers where it is necessary for a booking or a claim.
Where your information goes
Cloudflare and Google operate worldwide, so your information may be processed outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the UK's data bridge to the United States or by standard contractual clauses approved for use in the UK.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 12 months, so we can pick up where we left off if you come back to us.
- Bookings and completed jobs: 6 years after the work is finished, as required for tax and accounting records and in case of a dispute or insurance claim.
- Website access logs held by Cloudflare: retained according to Cloudflare's own retention periods, which are typically short.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies of its own and does not use advertising cookies. Our analytics are cookie-free. The only cookies that may be set come from Cloudflare, either as part of the Turnstile check on the contact form or for security purposes across the site. These are necessary for the site to work and cannot be switched off from within the website.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, where we no longer need it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- ask for a copy of information you gave us in a format you can take elsewhere.
To use any of these rights, email info@waterworthgroup.co.uk. We will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would appreciate the chance to sort things out first.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be explained here.
